Tropical house is not a style. Because of that the tropical house could have been present in a variety of styles both traditional and modern architectural styles. Wherever the house is built, the solution to the problems that are arising due to climatic conditions is essential and mandatory to be fulfilled.

So the tropical house can be understood as a house which is designed in such way, so that able to give comfort to do activities and to protect the inhabitants from the problems that is brought by the tropical climate. Comfort is mainly affected by the condition of the air inside the house or around which remains healthy, not hot or sultry, not cold or chills, and not damp.
Circulation aka the movement of healthy and clean air, which means fresh, no dusty, not smelly, not dirty and doesn’t have germs, is absolutely necessary. The visual comfort in a house is closely related to the lighting system. To achieve the visual comfort, we can combine the using of natural lighting (sunlight) and the use of artificial lighting (lamps).
The purpose is that every space in your house is getting adequate lighting, not glare, because the intensity of lighting is adequate and comfortable for doing the activities. The application of utilizing the sunlight, for example, is by observing the layout of the openings that consider to the direction of the sunlight, so it can determine the intensity of the light which is appropriate for the inside space.
Wide eaves or canopies on the windows, in addition to blocking rain, can also dispel the effect of glare and heat from the sun. Do not forget to maximize the potential of natural lighting and use the artificial lighting as needed, so that your house can save the energy.
